The short second life of...

Life is hard... and then you graduate.

In the case of a junior lawyer, life is hard... and then they suck your blood completely, make you believe you owe your life to the firm, squeeze all your strength, push you to the limit, make you wish you had studied something else, make you wish you hadn't studied (at all), take your money, your time, family and friends, make you look for (and find) a blue donkey fluent in chinese directly arrived from the magic land of Narnia, and then at the end of the day, they don't even thank you for the effort (and right now, a blue narnian donkey fluent in chinese doesn't seem so hard to find...).

Why?

Cause they are making you a favour so that you can become like them and suck someone else's blood come the right moment.

And so you cling to that hope, the hope that some day you won't work as much, won't have to sacrifice your holidays, your personal life, and your feet (cause you make yourself believe high heels are going to make you a better lawyer, of course!) and enjoy an average evening in which you leave the office before 11pm...

Oh, and then you die young.

If anyone asks, I'm officially on holidays, unless of course, you need a blue narnian donkey fluent in chinese, in which case... just leave me a comment.

Such is Life.
